Fire On Dawson came out of New York City in the early 2000s. Their debut single '7 Symptoms' got attention for its melody and lyrics about mental health, which gave them a start in alternative rock.
Internal conflicts led to some founding members leaving the band. They regrouped with new people and kept making music, putting out albums like their self-titled debut in 2004, 'The Dead Kennedys' in 2007, and 'The Bones of Our Fathers' in 2014. Songs like 'End of May' and 'Every Second' show the range they worked with.
John Smith handled lead vocals and most of the songwriting, while Mary Jones played lead guitar. The band's sound had a raw quality that stayed through different lineups.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
