Fireflies formed in the early 2000s with Anya Petrova on vocals, Ethan James on guitar, and Jake Wilson on bass. They released their debut album 'Ashes' in 2003. The band's song 'It's Useless' became their most recognizable track, with Petrova's vocals driving its anthemic quality.
They put out two more albums, 'The Spark' in 2006 and 'Reverie' in 2009. The lineup expanded to include David Smith on drums and Sarah Jones on keyboards. Fireflies stopped performing together around 2012.
