FireSky Future

FireSky Future formed in Nashville around 2007 when Alex McBride and Evan Roberts met at a local festival. They were later joined by bassist Jake Stone and drummer Max Carter. Their debut EP came out in 2012, followed by a full-length album two years later called 'The 8th Grade Guitar Project.'

That album's title track, '8th Grade Guitar Project,' became their most recognizable song. Other tracks like 'Another Punk Song' and 'Friday Night' show the band working with straightforward rock arrangements and lyrics about everyday moments.

They built their sound around acoustic melodies and harmonies, with McBride handling most of the songwriting. The music stays grounded in storytelling rather than chasing trends, which gave them a steady following without major commercial breaks.

Their catalog is modest but consistent, with songs that feel lived-in rather than polished for radio. They never became a household name, but for listeners who found them, the music had a directness that felt genuine.
