Fistful of Mercy formed in 2010 as a trio with Ben Harper, Dhani Harrison, and Joseph Arthur. They came together after Harrison and Arthur had worked on a song together the previous year. Their self-titled debut album came out that same year on Rounder Records, with songs like 'As I Call You Down' and 'Father's Son' showing their blend of rock and soul textures.
That album included the track '30 Bones,' which became a fan favorite. The group's sound leaned on acoustic arrangements and three-part harmonies, with each member bringing their own songwriting background to the project. They haven't released another album since that first one, but songs like 'I Don't Want To Waste Your Time' and 'In Vain Or True' still get played from that collection.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
