Fit Of a King

Fit for a King formed in Tyler, Texas around 2010, with Ryan Kirby on vocals and Jared Easterling handling guitar and vocals. They spent their early years playing local shows and touring, building a following while dealing with the usual lineup shuffles and financial strains that come with starting a band.

Their first album, 'Descendants,' came out in 2013 and helped them reach a wider audience. They followed it with 'Slave to Nothing' in 2014, which drew some criticism for its lyrics. The band explained they were trying to write about addiction and self-destruction, not to cause offense.

They kept putting out records like 'Battleground,' 'Deathgrip,' and 'Dark Skies,' sticking with their mix of heavy guitars and melodic vocals. One of their tracks, 'A Love That Transcends Understanding,' shows how they work those themes of struggle and emotion into the music.
