Fito Cabrales started playing music in Bilbao in the early 1990s with Carlos Raya, Javier Alzola, and Joserra Senperena. Their first album, 'A Puerta Cerrada,' didn't catch on right away, and they had to work through some lean years playing shows and building a following.
Things changed in 2001 with their third album, 'Los Sueños Locos.' The song 'Soldadito Marinero' from that record connected with people in a way their earlier work hadn't, becoming something of a national anthem in Spain.
Later albums like 'Por La Boca Vive El Pez' and 'Antes De Que Cuente Diez' continued to explore the kind of melodic rock and thoughtful lyrics that had become their territory. Songs like 'Me Equivocaría Otra Vez' and 'Entre La Espada Y La Pared' kept them on Spanish radio and in concert halls.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
