Fitt e Os Envolventes formed in Rio de Janeiro around the mid-2000s, with Fábio "Fitt" Dias as their frontman. They put out their first album, "Música para Surdos," in 2007. The track "Calça Skinni" from that record caught on quickly and became something of an anthem for them.
Their lyrics sometimes touched on social and political topics, which brought them both attention and criticism. Some listeners accused the band of promoting violence or drug use, and there were protests and calls for censorship. They didn't really back down from that, though, and kept writing what they wanted to write.
They had a lineup that included guitarists André Prando and Henrique Codonho, bassist Victor de Paula, and drummer Eduardo "Dudu" Prado. The music was straightforward rock with some energy to it, and it found an audience in Brazil.
