Five Pointe O formed in Cincinnati in 1997 with Brian Welch on vocals, Mark Chaussee on bass, and Mike Szuter on drums. Their debut album 'Dimension' came out in 2000 and included the track 'Double X Minus.' They followed it with 'The Recollection: A Retrospective' in 2001 and 'The Tragic Truth' in 2002.
Welch's Christian beliefs and some of the band's lyrics drew attention and occasional criticism. Szuter and other members left at various points, which made the lineup less stable over time. They put out another album called 'All That Remains' in 2017.
Their songs like 'Freedom?' and 'King Of The Hill' showed the kind of aggressive, melodic metal they were known for. They played shows with bands like Korn and Disturbed during the early 2000s.
