Five Port formed in Brasília during the mid-1990s, with Carlos "Buiú" Telles on vocals, Pedro "Choco" Martins on guitar, Bruno "BoB" Oliveira on bass, and Alexandre "Mancha" Luz on drums. Their music pulled from reggae, rock, and samba, and their lyrics often addressed social issues, which led to some radio bans and pushback from conservative groups.
Their debut album "Cinco Portas" came out in 1997, followed by "Ética" in 2000 and "Subir a Montanha" in 2004. The song "Manobra" became particularly well-known, alongside tracks like "Além Do Mar" and "Crônus." Buiú's vocals and Choco's guitar work were central to their sound.
While their lineup shifted over time, the core members kept recording and performing. They didn't soften their approach much, even as their music evolved across those albums.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
