Fivespeed formed in Austin in 2009 with Chase Weinacht on vocals, Ben Dahmes on guitar, Lawrence Kelso on bass, and Michael Trew on drums. They signed with Glassnote Records and put out their debut album 'The Fall' in 2012. The lead single from that record, 'Drive (Field Guide),' got some national attention with its mix of indie rock and synth-pop.
Drummer Michael Trew left the band in 2014. Their second album, 'Persona,' came out in 2017. Other songs in their catalog include 'Fair Trade,' 'Misery Loves Company,' 'Morning Over Midnight,' and 'The Mess.'
