Flavinho is a Brazilian gospel singer from São Paulo who came up in a Christian household. His 2013 album Coração Contrito gave him his biggest song, the title track, which became something of an anthem. He'd put out his debut Novo Tempo a few years earlier in 2010.
His music tends toward straightforward, emotional delivery. Other songs like Deus É Maior and Vem Oh! Água Viva follow a similar vein of devotional pop. He's worked with a band that includes Junior on bass, Ricardo on drums, and Carol on keyboards and backing vocals.
Flavinho's lyrics have sometimes drawn criticism for being too direct about social issues. In 2015, a song addressing homosexuality sparked some backlash. He kept recording through it, putting out albums like Deus não Falha in 2016 and A Essência do Amor in 2019.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
