Flavinho e Os Barões came out of São Paulo in the late 1980s with a mix of rock, pop, and funk. Their song "Kika no Calcanhar" caught on in 1989, though some listeners thought its lyrics about a flirtatious girl crossed a line. The band pushed back, saying it was meant as something light.
Flavio Lemos sang and wrote for the group, with Jairo Marin on guitar, Rodrigo Santos on bass, and Cleberson Horsth on drums. They had a run of popularity, but by 1994 Lemos had left over personal and creative disagreements. The others kept going as Os Barões, but things weren't the same.
In 2007, Lemos and the band got back together for a tour. They played some shows, and that was about it.
