Flávio Júnior came up in Salvador, Bahia, where he started singing and writing songs shaped by samba and MPB. His debut album, Tudo ou Nada, came out in 2004, and he followed it two years later with Não Tem Jeito Não. That second album's title track became a hit, and he's also known for songs like Andorinha Machucada and collaborations like Não Precisa Me Dizer o Que Já Sei with Fátima Leão.
He put out a live album in 2008 and another studio record, Meu Jeito, in 2011. The existing notes mention a drug scandal around 2008 that briefly interrupted things, but he kept working after that. His music draws from bossa nova and axé, but mostly he's remembered for straightforward songs about love and longing that connected with Brazilian listeners.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
