Flerte Rock formed in São Paulo in the late 1990s, originally calling themselves Dose. The trio, Carlinhos Carneiro on vocals and guitar, Fábio Aguiar on bass, and Bruno Oliveira on drums, built a following through live shows before releasing their debut album 'Um Dia de Chuva' in 2003. The title track, which appears in their catalog as 'Dia de Chuva,' became a signature song for the band.
Their lyrics often dealt with personal and social themes, which drew some criticism alongside their growing popularity. They kept the same three members through five studio albums, including 'Ménage À Trois' in 2006 and 'O Último Romance' in 2010. Songs like 'A Estrela' and 'Até o Fim' show their blend of melodic alternative rock with introspective writing.
Their self-titled album came out in 2019, rounding out a catalog that stayed focused on their core sound rather than chasing trends.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
