Fleshless formed in Fort Collins, Colorado in 1990 with Chris Ulsh on vocals, Matt DeVries and Steve Hollman on guitars, Mike Kutash on bass, and Mike Montgomery on drums. They put out their first album, A Gore Overture, in 1993.
Their songs like A Dank Smell Of Rotting Ovulation and A Roadkill Recipe are typical of their sound, which leans into gore and blasphemy in the lyrics. The band released three more records after that: In Extremis in 2000, Grind Basement in 2005, and the Carnal Clergy EP in 2011.
