Fleshpress

Fleshpress formed in London in the early 2000s around vocalist Olly Peacock, who had previously been part of the experimental band Eyeless in Gaza. They worked with guitarist Mike Featherstone and bassist Chris Webb, playing live shows while developing their sound. Their 2004 debut album "...All Things Broken" brought them wider attention, with Peacock's lyrics touching on themes like loss and addiction over sparse, atmospheric arrangements.

After that first record, they put out several more albums including "In the Shadow of the Valley" in 2006, "The Machine" in 2008, and "Silver" in 2012. Songs like "All Hope Lost" and "Becoming Soil" continued in a similar vein, melodic but raw, with a focus on emotional weight rather than conventional rock structures. The band maintained a steady presence in the UK's alternative scene without chasing mainstream trends.

Peacock's writing remained central, often circling back to personal and existential questions. Their later material, including tracks like "Cold Dawn" and "Crumble," kept that introspective quality, leaning into quiet tension rather than loud catharsis. They built a following among listeners drawn to that kind of unvarnished, slow-burning intensity.
