Archive material and source history
Flickerstick formed in Denver in 1995 with Brian Lucey on vocals and guitar, Brandon Darner on guitar, Nate Query on bass, and Scott Johnson on drums. They put out their first album 'Weltraum' in 1998, which included the track 'My December.'
Their songs often had a moody, atmospheric quality, with titles like 'Execution By Christmas Lights' and 'Catholic Scars & Chocolate Bars' suggesting a certain lyrical preoccupation. They released two more albums, 'In the Time of the Singing of Birds' in 2000 and 'Quiet Storm' in 2003.
The band went on indefinite hiatus in 2006. Afterward, Lucey and Darner worked together in a project called The Dear and Departed, while Query and Johnson moved on to other musical work.
