Florcita Motuda

Florcita Motuda formed in Chile in 1985, started by brothers Pablo and Francisco Ilabaca. Their music mixed rock and pop with Chilean folk sounds, which felt different from what was common then. They wrote lyrics that were often funny and sharp, which got them noticed but also made some people uncomfortable.

Their 1990 album 'AM' had the song 'Brevemente... Gente,' which became popular with younger listeners. They kept making albums through the 1990s and early 2000s, like 'Niños Con Bombas' in 1994 and 'El Dedo' in 2000. Other songs people remember include 'La Quintralada' and 'Pronto Amanecerá.'

The band's lineup changed over time, though the Ilabaca brothers stayed at the center. At different points, Jorge Lobos played bass, Rodrigo Bahamondes played guitar, and Cristian Heyne played drums. They worked with other musicians too, including the Chilean group Los Jaivas.
