Flybox started playing in Rio de Janeiro around 2007. The band's early lineup included Lucas Silveira on vocals and guitar, Rodrigo Tavares on bass, and Léo Guimarães on drums.
Their song 'Ao Seu Lugar' became something of an anthem for Brazil's LGBTQ+ community, which brought them both supporters and critics. The band kept writing about personal and sometimes political topics in songs like 'Mentiras Sucessivas' and 'Tente Me Entender'.
They put out albums called 'Blues', 'Aos Nossos Filhos', and 'Vandalismo'. The drummer position changed after Guimarães left in 2010, and Fernando Almeida, Bruno Barbosa, and Thiago Rezer have all played with the group at different times.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
