Flying Steps formed in Mainz, Germany in 1993, started by a few dancers who were into the hip-hop scene coming out of New York at the time. They began with battle performances, which is how a lot of street dance crews get their footing.
Their track "Breakin' It Down" became something of an anthem for them, helping push their name out there internationally. They put out albums like "Flying Steps" in 1995, "Live in Concert" in 1998, and "Motion" in 2003. In 2005, they worked with composer Martin Böttcher on an album called "Momentum," which mixed some classical elements into their usual hip-hop and breakdance style.
Founding members included Vartan Bassil, Kais Harrabi, and Christian "Filou" Bader. Their other songs include "Get Freaky" and "We Are Electric."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
