Fm Static formed in California around 1998 with Keith Barney on vocals and guitar, Steve Augustine on guitar, John Bunyea on bass, and Chris Steele on drums. They put out their first album, 'Synthetic Symmetry,' in 2001. Their third record, 'Flop Culture,' came out in 2003 and gave them a wider audience. The title track from that album got some radio play.

They made a handful of studio albums, including 'The Resurrection' in 2002 and 'Dear Diary' in 2005. Some of their other songs include 'Definitely Maybe,' 'Moment of Truth,' 'Tonight,' and 'Last Train Home.'
