Fall Out Boy formed in Chicago with Patrick Stump on vocals and guitar, Pete Wentz on bass, Joe Trohman on guitar, and Andy Hurley on drums. Their early work had a raw punk energy, heard on songs like "Vomit The Soul" and "Bad Morning." They put out their first album, Take This to Your Grave, in 2003.

From Under the Cork Tree in 2005 brought them wider attention with the single "Sugar, We're Goin' Down." Their sound shifted over subsequent albums, incorporating more pop and electronic elements on records like Infinity on High and Save Rock and Roll. Some of their lyrics have drawn criticism for explicit content.

Their catalog includes songs such as "The Mask," "Awakening To Dream," and "Dark Shadows." The band has released several studio albums, including Folie à Deux, American Beauty/American Psycho, and Mania.
