F.O.D.

F.O.D. (Fuck Off and Die) came up in New York City's underground punk scene in the mid-1980s. Their sound was raw and confrontational, with lyrics that didn't shy away from profanity or social commentary. This approach quickly built them a following among disenchanted listeners while alienating others who found their attitude too aggressive.

They released several albums that pushed at punk's boundaries. Their 1987 debut was a blistering, unfiltered statement. By 1991's 'The Final Solution,' they were working in concept-album territory, exploring themes of injustice and oppression. That record included the song 'Crew You,' which became one of their more recognizable tracks.

The band's lineup shifted over time, but a core group held it together: Jimmy Gestapo on vocals, Billy King on guitar, Philthy Phil on bass, and Spike Cassidy on drums. Their live shows were known for intense energy, and an incident in 1989 where they were arrested (charges later dropped) at a concert only solidified their reputation as a group that wouldn't conform.

F.O.D. never broke through to mainstream success, but they developed a dedicated cult following. Their music, including songs like 'Allein' and 'Endzeitwinde,' resonated with fans who valued their uncompromising stance and the relentless drive of their rhythm section.
