Fogo Consumidor formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s. The band included Fernando Catatau on vocals and guitar, Sérgio Britto on guitar, João Bentes on bass, and Thiago Bellotto on drums. Their debut album came out in 2005, featuring the song "Lugar."
"Lugar" became a hit for the group. They followed it with other tracks like "Acreditar" and "Eterna Gratidão." In 2008, they released an album called "Água Ardente." Three years later, "Sob o Céu de São Paulo" blended rock with Brazilian folk and samba rhythms.
Their final album was 2014's "Fim do Mundo." Around 2008, the band faced some legal issues over the use of "Lugar" in a television commercial.
