Fogo Latino

Fogo Latino formed in 1998 in Rio de Janeiro, a group of musicians who started playing together with a mix of samba, funk, and rock. Their first album, also called 'Fogo Latino,' included the track 'Chora!' which became widely known. The band's lineup featured Zé Roberto on vocals, João Pedro on guitar, and Maria Eduarda on bass.

Some listeners found their lyrics too direct or political, which led to criticism from certain corners. They kept playing anyway, and songs like 'Só Posso Estar Sonhando' and 'Cigana' showed their range across different Brazilian styles. Their sound wasn't always easy to categorize, but it had a clear energy that came through in their recordings.

They put out several albums after that first one, each with its own feel. The music sometimes leaned into electronic touches, sometimes stayed closer to traditional rhythms. You can hear that shift if you listen from 'Chora!' to later tracks like 'É Só Fazer Assim' or 'Ele Não Te Ama.'
