Forefather came out of the Canadian underground in the early 1990s. The band was led by vocalist Matt Vera, with guitarist Dean Chalmers, bassist Rick Prosser, and drummer Shane McEntee forming a consistent lineup through various challenges.
Their debut album was called "Inner Urge to Kill." They followed it with releases like "Curse of the Damned" and "Destroyer." Songs like "Ancient Voice" and "Curse Of The Cwelled" show the aggressive style they became known for.
They faced label disputes and financial hardship early on, but kept working. The track "Iron Hand" became something of an anthem for their uncompromising approach.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
