Foreign/National formed in Los Angeles in 1998. The band included Logan Lynn on vocals and songwriting, Mark Manning on guitar, Scott Leahy on bass, and John Christensen on drums. They put out their first album, 'Enchanted,' which had a raw, experimental feel.
Songs like 'Pacific Cruise' and 'Always Blue' show their mix of alternative rock and electronic elements. They followed up with another album called 'Signals.' Lynn's lyrics tended toward the introspective, and the band developed a reputation for not following industry trends too closely.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
