I was having one of those days so I thought I'd call you up

You'd come over and we'd have some drinks at our favorite bar

We'd lay in bed and talk things over

You would do your best Italian accent

I'd make a dumb dry joke

But all I got was your voicemail

I've been thinking about leaving this city

And if I left by plane would you call in a bomb threat

And then show up at the airport?

And if I left by car would you put a spike strip

In the road and then meet me in the hospital?

I've got nowhere left to go.

So I walked down to the beach but it just reminded me of you

Sandwiches, lightning and waves

So i thought I'd call you up

Invite you to our restaurant,

I know they don't call it Green Temple for nothing

But hey, dinner is on me
