Forró Anjos Da Madrugada

Forró Anjos Da Madrugada formed in 1995 in Tauá, Ceará, with Léo Carvalho as their vocalist. They started playing in a forró scene that wasn't always welcoming, but they kept at it until their 2002 debut album 'Caminhos Diversos' gave them a national audience. The title track from that record became their first real hit.

Their sound mixed traditional forró rhythms with touches of samba and pop, which drew some criticism from purists who preferred things kept strictly traditional. They didn't change course, though, and kept making music that crossed those genre lines. Songs like 'Deixar Eu Te Amar' became staples in their set.

While the lineup has seen some changes over time, Carvalho has remained the consistent presence at the front of the band. They've put out a steady stream of albums since that first breakthrough, each one building on what came before without ever settling into a predictable pattern.
