Forró Chapolândia formed in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, Brazil in the 1990s. The band was started by vocalist and guitarist Dedé Brasil and accordionist Chico Chapolândia, who began playing in local bars and festivals. Their debut album 'Forró Chapolândia: Ao Vivo' came out in 1997 and included the track 'Perdoa,' which became widely popular.
Chico Chapolândia left the group in 2002, leading to a brief break before Dedé Brasil and other members continued. They've released several albums including 'Nunca Mais Voltou' in 1998 and 'Deixa Eu Te Amar' in 1999. Other songs in their catalog include 'Me dar seu prazer,' 'Oops Não Te Quero Mais,' and 'Passou do Tempo.'
