Forro da Badalação came out of Fortaleza, Brazil. Their song 'Agora é Tarde De Mais' got some attention, and they put out a few other tracks like 'Cabaré das Patricinhas' and 'Ela Não Para de Dançar' that kept them going for a while.
They had a record called 'Mulher Proibida' that did well enough locally, and later an album titled 'Ritmo da Badalação'. The music leaned on traditional Brazilian rhythms with some pop touches, which gave them a sound that worked in clubs and at parties.
There were some claims about plagiarism at one point, but nothing that stuck. Mostly they just kept playing shows, sometimes in smaller spots when things were tight. They managed to build a following in their region without becoming a national story.
