Forró de Aço

Forró de Aço formed in Cajazeiras, Paraíba in 1990 with Evandro Júnior on vocals, Xandinho do Acordeon on accordion, Manoel Neto on zabumba, and Chiquinho on triangle. They started playing local events, working within the traditional forró style.

Their 1993 song 'Quem Vai Querer a Minha Piriquita' became a national hit, with lyrics that drew criticism from conservative groups. The band faced legal challenges and threats over their material, which some considered sexually explicit.

They continued releasing albums through the 1990s and 2000s, including songs like 'Carro de Apaixonado' and 'Eu Não Preciso de Você'. Their lineup changed over time, with Manoel Neto departing in 1999 and Xandinho do Acordeon leaving later.
