Forró de Cana

Forró de Cana formed in the early 2000s when childhood friends Zé Neto and Rafael Cavalcanti started playing traditional forró music from their hometown of Caruaru in northeastern Brazil. They recorded a debut album called "Forró de Cana" that didn't get much attention at first, so they kept playing local bars and events around Caruaru.

Things changed in 2006 when they released their second album, "Beijoqueiro de Caruaru." The title track became a hit, mixing traditional forró rhythms with more contemporary pop elements. That song helped them reach a national audience and led to festival appearances across Brazil.

Their music includes tracks like "Cientista Ricardo Ferreira," "Dila," and "Motivo" that maintained their connection to forró traditions while finding wider appeal. They kept recording and performing, building a following through energetic live shows rather than dramatic career narratives.
