Forró de Qualidade

Forró de Qualidade came together in Fortaleza, Brazil, around the early 2000s. The group's core lineup has stayed pretty consistent with Washington Brasileiro on lead vocals and accordion, Cléber Melo on bass, Edson Lima on drums, and Gildevan Batista handling the zabumba.

Their 2010 album gave them the track "Arruma a Mala Ae," which became a breakout hit with its catchy melody and straightforward lyrics about a heartbroken lover. Other songs like "Socadão" and "Patricinha Vaqueira" kept that same accessible, rhythmic forró feel.

In 2008, the band took a brief break after facing accusations of plagiarizing another artist's work. Some traditional forró listeners also criticized their sound for incorporating pop elements, though that didn't stop their popularity from growing.
