Forró Desejo formed in 1993 in Fortaleza, starting with local festival and bar shows. They signed with Sony Music in 1997. Their debut album 'Forró Desejo' included the singles 'Balança' and 'Céu de São Miguel.'
In 1999, bassist Edivan Lima died, and the band continued with a replacement. Lead singer Fabinho was arrested on drug charges in 2001, which drew public attention. They kept recording through it.
Their 2000 album 'Deixa Se Envolver' had the song 'Decisão,' which became widely popular. Another track, 'O Que Houve Com Nós Dois,' also appears among their top songs. They released 'É o Tchan no Forró' in 2004.
