Forró do Mundo

Forró do Mundo formed in Fortaleza, Brazil in the late 1990s, with Tarcísio Sardinha and Roberto de Sá as founding members. They started playing in bars and clubs around the city, working with the traditional forró dance music style. Their 2004 album 'Quem Ama Cuida' gave them one of their most recognizable songs.

Their music often touches on social themes, though they keep things grounded in danceable rhythms. Songs like 'To Vivendo Por Viver' and 'Bate em Mim' show their straightforward approach to forró. The group has included various musicians over time, with Sardinha handling vocals and accordion while de Sá plays bass.

They've continued releasing albums every few years, including 'Forró do Mundo é Amor' in 2008 and 'Deixa a Gente se Amar' in 2012. Their sound stays close to forró's core elements while occasionally bringing in other Brazilian rhythms. Tracks like 'Cigana' and 'Som Paredão' maintain that direct, rhythmic quality that works on dance floors.
