Forró Doce Desejo do Brasil formed in Fortaleza in the mid-1990s, originally as a trio with Romário Costa, Eliane Sousa, and Luís Carlos. Their debut album came out in 1995, and they've kept at it through various lineup changes since. The band's sound works with traditional forró rhythms from Brazil's northeast, giving them a straightforward dance foundation.
They put out albums like 'Ao Vivo e Em Cores' in 1999, 'Pé de Serra' in 2002, and 'De Volta Para o Forró' in 2015. Their song 'Ao Vivo e Em Cores' was at the center of a plagiarism dispute in 2005 that got settled out of court. Another track, 'Declaração de Amor', is among their better-known pieces.
They're still part of that regional forró circuit, playing the music they started with back in Fortaleza.
