The band included musicians like Zé do Pife on flute, Batista on triangle, and Xico do Trombone.
They released albums including "Forró do Xenhenhém" in 1996, "Baião do Bois" in 1999, and "Rei do Baião" in 2002. Their song "Baião de Bois" became one of their better-known tracks, along with "Lua Prateada" and "Priscila."
Some critics felt Forró Genuíno was too focused on preserving traditional sounds rather than innovating. The band maintained their approach, playing the music they believed in without much compromise to mainstream trends.
