Forró Marcas da Paixão formed in 2004, with accordionist Dilvan Silva and vocalist Erivaldo Lima coming together in Brazil's Northeast region. Their music draws from traditional forró rhythms, with the accordion leading melodies over bass and percussion. Songs like 'Acredita Em Mim' and 'Te Amo Feito Louco' show their focus on themes of love and heartache.
They released albums including Acredita Em Mim in 2006, Chão Batido in 2007, and O Nosso Forró in 2013. The band's lineup has included Betinho on bass, Ninho on percussion, and Bino on guitar alongside the founding members.
Four years later, vocalist Erivaldo Lima faced an arrest for alleged drug possession, which temporarily halted their performances.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
