Forró Memórias formed in 2009 in Campina Grande, Brazil, around vocalists Bruno Guimarães and Fabiana Serpa. They play forró, a genre from northeastern Brazil. The band's 2012 single "Chão de Giz" became a national hit, a ballad about love and loss that connected with listeners.
Their albums include the self-titled "Forró Memórias" from 2012, "Pronto Pra Voar" in 2015, and a compilation called "O Melhor do Forró Memórias" in 2018. Other songs in their catalog include "Eu e a Outra," "Foi Pelo Coração," and "Kabaré da Valdirene."
The current lineup features Bruno Guimarães on vocals and guitar, Fabiana Serpa on vocals, Yuri Almeida on accordion, Beto Sousa on zabumba, and Junior Sousa on triangle.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
