Forró Molim Molim

Forró Molim Molim formed in 1996 in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, a town in Brazil's Northeast. They started as a group of young musicians drawn to the region's traditional forró rhythms. Their early recordings came out on albums like 'Forró Molim Molim' in 1998.

They became known for songs that tackled subjects other forró acts often avoided. Their 1999 track 'Se Correr o Bicho Pega, Se Ficar o Bicho Come' became a hit, and other songs like 'Agora Quem Sofre É Você' and 'Zé Povinho É Foda' followed a similar direct style. This approach connected with some listeners but also drew criticism from more conservative corners.

Their music kept the basic forró framework but sometimes incorporated other Brazilian styles. They released several albums through the 2000s, including 'Sem Champanhe' in 2001 and 'Forró da Gente' in 2004. The band's lineup featured a core group of members who played on these records.
