Forró Tá Na Moda formed in 2004 in Fortaleza, a city in northeastern Brazil. They started playing a mix of traditional forró with some modern touches, which took a little time to find its audience. The band's lineup included Raimundo Neto on lead vocals, Juliana Santos on backing vocals, Felipe Mendes on accordion, Renan Filho on triangle, and Daniel Dias on zabumba.
Their 2007 single "Suingue" became a national hit, giving them a much wider reach. They released several albums after that, including Forró de Primeira in 2008 and O Som do Povo in 2010. In 2012, there were some accusations about the melody of "Suingue" being borrowed, though the band denied it and the matter didn't seem to linger.
Their music kept the traditional forró rhythms at its center while making them feel current. They recorded steadily through the 2010s with albums like Energia do Nordeste in 2014 and Tá na Moda in 2018.
