Forró Vida de Vaqueiro came together in the sertão of Piauí, where José "Zé" Neto, Leonardo "Léo" Cordeiro, and Gilson Ribeiro started playing accordion-driven forró at local festivals. Their first album, "O Samba do Vaqueiro," came out in 2015 with songs about cattle ranchers' lives.
A year later, their second album gave them a national hit with the track "Garçom Traga Mais Uma Cerveja." That song and others like "Vaqueiro, Gado e Mulher" and "Vida de Nordestino" kept their sound grounded in the rhythms and stories of northeastern Brazil.
