Foxy Lady was an all-female Brazilian band that formed in São Paulo in 1995. Their song 'Acabou' became their most recognizable track, though they also recorded others like 'Até Pensei' and 'Com o Vento.' The group included Claudia Leitte on vocals, Gilmelândia on keyboards, Carla Amato on guitar, and Patrícia Boaretto on bass.
They released their debut album 'Acabou Chorare' in 1996, followed by 'Mais que uma Banda' in 1998. Their later work included 'A Simplicidade' in 2001 and 'De Volta ao Começo' in 2005. Their music drew from funk, pop, and rock influences.
Some listeners found their performances and lyrics provocative at the time. The band continued recording through 2009's 'Novo Mundo.'
