Foxy Shazam formed in Cincinnati in 2004, led by vocalist Eric Nally. Their early shows were theatrical and elaborate, which didn't always fit with the indie rock scene at the time. They kept touring anyway, building a following through sheer persistence.
Their 2008 debut album "Introducing Foxy Shazam" got them more attention, with Nally's vocals and anthemic choruses becoming a recognizable part of their sound. Some critics found their style too campy or over-the-top, but they kept making records anyway.
They released several more albums, including "The Church of Rock and Roll" in 2012, which gave them the song "Welcome To The Church Of Rock And Roll." Other tracks like "I Wanna Be Yours" and "Holy Touch" showed their mix of rock with glam and soul elements. The band's lineup has included Loren Turner on guitar, Gabe McMackin on drums, Sky White on keyboards, and Ian Church on bass.
