Francesco

Francesco formed in Rome's Trastevere neighborhood in the early 1990s with Francesco Sarcina on vocals, Fabio Rondanini on guitar, and Alessandro De Santis on bass. Their debut album 'Il Giardino dei Semplici' came out in 1994, and the song '10 Agosto' became their breakthrough hit.

In 2006, Sarcina faced plagiarism accusations over '10 Agosto,' with claims it resembled another Italian ballad. The band eventually won the court case. They kept recording through the late 1990s and 2000s with albums like 'Magari Meno Storie' and 'Il Peso dell'Amore,' and their sound shifted from rock toward soul and reggae touches.

Other musicians like guitarist Rocco Tanica and keyboardist Lorenzo Cantarini played with the group at different times. They worked with artists including Franco Battiato and Fiorella Mannoia. Songs like 'Duas Cabeças' and 'Nem Marginal Nem Herói 2' show the range they developed over those years.
