Francisco de Carvalho

Francisco de Carvalho started performing in his hometown of Santarém, Portugal, drawing from the traditional fado music he grew up with. He later incorporated pop, rock, and soul into his sound, which eventually led to his debut album in 2008.

That album was titled 'Junto aos teus Pés,' after its lead track, which became popular in Portugal. Other songs like 'Lamaçal do Pecado' and 'Pai querido' also appear among his most recognized work.

He performed with a band that included himself on vocals and guitar, along with other musicians like Ricardo D. Some listeners questioned how he blended fado with more contemporary styles, but he kept making music that reached a broad audience.
