Frank Pereira Composições

Frank Pereira Composições formed in 1972 with brothers Frank and Pereira, along with José de Oliveira. They started playing in Rio de Janeiro, working through the usual early struggles of getting heard. Their song 'Eu Te Amo Nega' became particularly well-known, along with others like 'A Face do Amor' and 'Assim É Quando Se Ama'.

Their music sometimes drew criticism for its directness about social matters, but they kept writing what felt true to them. They recorded albums including 'O Som do Gueto' in 1984 and 'O Canto da Liberdade' in 1989, with Frank handling vocals and composition while Pereira played bass.
