Frank Quintero was born in Caracas in 1947 and started playing guitar in the mid-1960s with the Venezuelan rock band The Darts. He went solo in 1974 with his self-titled debut album, which included the song 'Amiga' that became an early signature track. The song 'Amantes de Luna Llena' also appears among his most recognized work.
His band Los Pies de Frank formed around 1982, taking its name from that year's album. The group included musicians like Jorge Spiteri on drums and percussion, José Luis Pardo on bass, and Frank Hernández on keyboards. Quintero recorded more than twenty studio albums over his career, including 'Viaje a la Luna' in 1991 and 'Música de Cámara' in 2001.
He collaborated with artists such as Rubén Blades, Silvio Rodríguez, and Soledad Bravo. Songs like 'Apóyate En Mi' and 'Cuando Tu Me Miras' show his style of writing about relationships and everyday moments in plain language. His music stayed grounded in Venezuelan rock while reaching listeners across Latin America.
