Frank Sinatra recorded "More (Ti guarderò nel cuore)" with Count Basie's orchestra in the early 1960s. The song was originally written by Italian composer Nino Oliviero for the documentary film "Mondo Cane." Sinatra's version with Basie's swinging arrangements gave the melody a different feel than its cinematic origins.
Basie's orchestra provided the backing, with Freddie Green on guitar and Thad Jones on trumpet among the players. Their 1964 album "More!" featured the track as its title song. A live version appeared later on "Sinatra and Basie at the Sands" from 1966.
The collaboration between Sinatra's vocals and Basie's band worked because of their shared sense of rhythm and space. Basie's arrangements never crowded Sinatra's delivery, letting the vocal line breathe against the orchestra's gentle swing.
